Here is a list of parks, splash pads and pools in the Chestermere area (and beyond) to get the kids out of the house. Bookmark this page for easy reference.


Local Parks in Chestermere & Langdon

Anniversary Park – 208 West Chestermere Drive
Features cenotaph, beach, plaza and promenade. Washrooms are available.

Birth Forests – various locations throughout Chestermere
Every year, the Streetscapes Committee plants trees in September to recognize those children born to families living within the City of Chestermere.

Chestermere Family Bike Park - 333 West Creek Drive
It's not a traditional park, but it is a great place to bring bike riders of all ages and abilities. Street parking is available. Portapotty on-site and gazebos and seating are available. Closes for the winter, and during rainy spells. 

Chestermere Skatepark - Intersection of Rainbow Road and Chestermere Boulevard (by Synergy)
The skatepark is a great spot for beginners to learn the sport in a non-intimidating park. Skateboards, Rollerblades, Scooters, and Ripsticks are allowed

Cornerstone Community Park - 340 Merganser Dr. W
Parking lot, pathways, and a sidewalk along Rainbow Road. Next to the Skate Park and ReidBuilt Centre for Community Leadership.

Cove Park  - Cove Road
Sand, natural playground with baby swing and viewing point

Founders’ Point Park – 117 Founders’ Point
Features a cairn erected in 2002 with a time capsule containing objects significant to Chestermere. The time capsule is to be opened in 2052

John Peake Memorial Park – 100 John Morris Way
Features a beautiful gazebo, concrete walkway along the lake, picnic areas and the public boat launch

Kinniburgh Park – along Kinniburgh Blvd

Langdon Park, Langdon – 28 acres to run and play! Paved pathways, skateboard park, and more.

Millennium Park – 168 East Chestermere Drive
Includes a playground, sailboat sculpture and a lighted pathway to Sunset Beach.

Rainbow Falls Park – 301 Rainbow Falls Drive
Take a stroll through the winding pathways of Rainbow Falls and several different waterfalls.

Sunset Park – 418 East Chestermere Drive
One of the Birth Forests is located here. Sunset Park is a favourite location for sailboarders and paddleboarders. Also features beach volleyball courts and barbeque pits.

Triangle Park – 740 East Chestermere Drive
This park includes half-court basketball, tot lot, baby swings and picnic tables.

Spray/Splash Parks & Wading Pools

We've included some that are a bit of a drive, but we think they are worth the drive. 

Splish splash! Go for a few hours, or pack a picnic and make a day out of it. Most of these are not local, but worth the drive!

We advise always checking with the venue when possible before heading out as hours and availability can change due to any number of factors, ranging from weather to staffing issues.  

Strathmore Lions Splash Park – Kinsmen Park, Strathmore  OPEN during water restrictions. 
Located along Lakeside Blvd. Also has a playground, gazebo, picnic areas.

 Irricana Splash Park -  Located in the recreation area off of Henrick’s Drive, Irricana
 Open seven days a week, 10:00 am - 9:00 pm

Mattamy Homes Spray Park 7th Ave & 48 Street, Airdrie  Opens in late May 2023
Located in Chinook Winds Regional Park

West Confederation Park - Spray Park  2020 Chicoutimi Drive NW. Parking off 19th Street & Chicoutimi Drive NW. Calgary OPEN during water restrictions. 
Features tennis courts, ball diamonds, washrooms, water fountains, pathways, benches, picnic tables as well as a spray park. Also connected to Confederation Park by the pathway system. Capacity 50

Bowness Park Wading Pool – 8900 48th Ave NW, Calgary  Closed until further notice.
Features a playground, picnic areas, washrooms and tea house. Aquatic wheelchairs are available. Capacity 175

Eau Claire Plaza – 3 St & Riverfront Ave SW, Calgary  Closed until further notice.
Features wading pool/spray park, playground, washrooms, water fountains and is located along the Bow River. Pay parking is available.

Prairie Winds Park Spray Park – 223 Castleridge Blvd NE, Calgary  Closed until further notice.
The spray park and wading pool underwent renovations in 2016/17, with a lazy river and improved wading pool. Aquatic wheelchairs are available. Capacity 300

Rotary Park Spray Park – 617 1st Street NE, Calgary OPEN during water restrictions. 
Features off-leash area, playground, spray park, picnic tables, washrooms, water fountains. Capacity 50

Riley Park Wading Pool –  800 12th Street NW, Calgary Closed until further notice.
Features wading pool, aquatic wheelchairs, Senator Patrick Burns Memorial Rock Gardens, picnic tables, playground, washrooms, water fountains

Valleyview Park Spray Park- 3224 26th Street SE, Calgary OPEN during water restrictions. 
A fairly new park in the Dover/Southview area. Featuring a pond, benches, picnic tables, playground, washrooms and spray park.

South Glenmore Park Spray Park – 90 Ave. & 24 St SW, Calgary
Picnic and playground area, public washrooms.  Aquatic wheelchairs are available.

Century Gardens Spray Park - 826 8 Ave. S.W. Calgary OPEN during water restrictions. 
New splash pad (2021), public washrooms.

Okotoks Spray Park - Milligan Dr, Okotoks  OPEN
Includes multiple play areas for different ages
