Using the growing body of research in brain development in the early years, a Noodle-Do event is essentially a structured play date with activities that are geared to 3-5 year olds but the target is really the parent, in order to teach them about the importance of “serve and return” interactions between a caregiver and their child. These simple interactions are the key to life-long learning and literacy. The main goal of these parties will be to educate parents and service providers about brain development and what they can be doing in the early years to ensure optimal development in a child’s formative years. Since children learn through play, parents need to learn what kinds of play develops healthy, school-ready brains and bodies.

These events have been made possible through funding provided by the Rocky View County Family & Community Support Services (FCSS). The Noodle-Do events are free for parents and children between 3 and 5 years of age living in Langdon and surrounding communities in Southeast Rocky View County.

Parents will have the opportunity to interact, play and learn from your child as they try out a fun activity with you. You will learn about what you can be doing to make sure your child is ready for preschool and kindergarten while exploring each of the five key areas of development -

Language and Literacy
Communication/General Knowledge
Social Competence
Emotional Maturity
Physical Health and Well-being

Your child will be saying "I'm Ready" in no time! To register for one of our FREE Noodle-Do events please call (403) 207-7050 or email plcinfo@chestermere.ca
