July Programs with Trellis Commons

Free programming for children and families ages 0 - 18

Trellis Commons Strathmore/Chestermere Family Resource Network Hub - February programming for children and families ages 0 - 18. All classes and programs are free, but registration is required for some programs.

The safety of our families and staff is our highest priority. The required precautions for in-person programs are listed below:

  • All in-person programs and meetings at Trellis Commons are by appointment or pre-registering for programming ONLY
  • Reduced indoor capacity remains in effect
  • Masks are OPTIONAL for Families and Children attending
  • Individuals that are experiencing any symptoms of sickness will be asked to not attend in-person programs and/or meetings
Parent & Caregiver Support Services (PCSS)

Day with Dads: Looking to connect with local dads? Day with Dads is focused on creating a safe space of education and fun to encourage positive father-child relationships.

Mother Goose by the Lake: Join us, in collaboration with Trellis and the Chestermere Public Library, for a fun, educational program designed to spark early literacy in young children. Each week will have a new theme and lots of exciting things to see and do!
When: July 10, 17, 24, 31, August 7, 14
Where: Right outside the Chestermere Library


Wellness Wednesdays: Discover a variety of local resources designed to support your well-being and connect with organizations that offer valuable services in our area. This program is a great opportunity to learn, engage, and enhance your overall wellness in a supportive community setting. Don't miss out on this chance to enrich your life and connect with your neighbours!
When: July 10, 17, 24, 31, August 7, 14 - Right after Mother


Potty Training 101: (virtual) Are you feeling unsure or confident about starting the potty training adventure? Register to watch our pre-recorded Potty Training 101 webcast to find out! Go through a helpful quiz, ensuring you understand if your little one is ready for this milestone and gain valuable tips and tricks successful potty training. Complete a quick survey at the end to receive a FREE potty box!

Ages and Stages Questionnaire: (virtual) Ages & Questionnaires® (ASQ) are the most widely used developmental and social-emotional screening tools for children ages 2 months to 6 years of age. There are x2 different parent-completed questionnaires that you can
complete.

Early Childhood Programming (Ages 0 - 6)

Mother Goose in the Park: In partnership with Strathmore library & 5 for life. Meet us at Kinsmen Park on Tuesday mornings for stories, songs, crafts, fun & some special guests! For children 0-5yrs. Older siblings welcome. In the case of rain or air quality index over 6 we will meet at Trellis-419b 2nd St, Strathmore Drop-In

Ice Cream in the Park: In partnership with Strathmore library, 5 For Life & local communities, Join us in your local park and enjoy songs, crafts, stories & of course an icy cold treat! Everyone welcome! DropIn

  • Standard: Park behind the fire hall. In case of rain or air quality index of over 6 we will be indoors at the Standard Library
  • Hussar: Campground near the Gazebo/Playground,. In case of rain or air quality index over 6 find us inside at the Community Centre
  • Carseland: Carseland Elementary School Playground. In case of rain or air quality index over 6 we will be inside at the Carseland Library
  • Gleichen:Playground. In case of rain or air quality index over 6 we will be indoors at the Gleichen library
  • Rockyford:Rockyford library green space. In case of rain or air quality index over 6 we will be inside at the Rockyford Library

Youth Programming (Ages 7 - 18)

Bright Minds: Let’s make rock photo holders. A fun, creative craft painting/decorating rocks and making photo holders. Ages 7-12

Teen Drop-In: In partnership with WYN, youth Ages 13+, come hang out & enjoy ping pong, video games & other activities, with youth in the community! Join us for Drop-in every Tuesday. A safe space for all youth! Drop-In

Youth & Family Culture group: Partnering with FCSS, Keep an eye on the Town of Strathmore website for more details and to register for this months eventAges 12+ Registered

Ice Cream in the Park: In partnership with Wheatland Youth Network. Youth age 11+ Join us in your local park for activities, games and of course Ice Cream!

Home Alone Standard: Learn the ins and outs of safely staying home alone and basic first aid safety. Standard Library Ages 10+ Registered

Babysitting Course: In partnership with the town of Strathmore learn the necessity of babysitting and receive a certificate to start making money babysitting. 12+ Registered with the Town of Strathmore.

Family Programming

Coffee & Chat: Need a change of scenery? Join us in the Strathmore FRN Playroom for a cup of coffee and play with your kids while they also get to make a new friend or two! Parent/ Caregivers with children ages 0-6 years of age. Drop In

Indigenous Crafts: Join us for some beading classes. Beverages and Small Snacks are provided at the Trellis Society Hub. Ages 12+ Registered 

Tea & Bannock: Everyone is welcome to come and learn from our elders. There will be no set topic just come with and open heart, mind, and the desire to learn about our history. Drop In

Family Gardening Summer Program: Join us every Tuesday in July and August at the Strathmore Library green space. Our garden plot needs some love. Bring seedlings and lets plant for a feast in fall. Drop In
