Chestermere is set to host an exciting day filled with fun, learning, and community spirit at the Chestermere Recreation Centre on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Organized by the Rocky View Chestermere (RVC) Agricultural Society, this eagerly anticipated event will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and promises a variety of activities suitable for all ages.

One of the highlights of the day will be two performances by children’s entertainer, Singing with Sylvia, scheduled for 11:15 am and 1:30 pm. Sylvia's interactive shows are known to charm and engage children with music and laughter, making her a favourite for families.

The fair kicks off with a pancake breakfast for the first 300 attendees, offering a delicious start to a day. Throughout the fair, guests can enjoy games, face painting, and an array of food trucks and vendors serving up tasty treats and merchandise.

The fair also offers trick riding demonstrations, sheep herding demos, and junior steer riding, showcasing the skills and traditions of rural sports. Pony rides and a Southern Alberta Rabbit Breeders’ Show will cater to animal lovers, providing insights into the care and variety of breeds in the world of rabbits.

Educational opportunities abound with the Vermicomposting seminar at 10:30 am, where participants can dive into the world of worm composting. This hands-on session will teach attendees how to utilize worms to create nutrient-rich compost for gardens. At 12:45 pm, the Soil Safari seminar invites participants to get their hands dirty while learning about the crucial role soil plays in sustaining life on Earth.

Adding to the educational lineup is a Beeswax Wrap Making Workshop, a sustainable living initiative where participants can learn to make their own reusable food wraps. This workshop is perfect for those interested in reducing their plastic use and embracing more eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.

Additionally, a bike tune-up event will offer maintenance tips for cycling enthusiasts looking to get their gear in top shape for the summer.

Tickets for the Family Fun Fair are $10.00 per family (for up to four people) or $5.00 per individual. Tickets are available for purchase online or at the gate, ensuring easy access for all who wish to join.
