Welcome to the Chestermere Vikings Youth Rugby Program, a vibrant and welcoming community where young athletes from ages 7 to 18 can thrive and grow. At the Chestermere Vikings Athletic Association, we're more than just a team - we're a family dedicated to nurturing talent and fostering a love for the game.
In 2023, our commitment to excellence was showcased as several of our players were chosen to compete in prestigious events like the Alberta Summer Games and the Alberta Regional Championships. Our seasoned coaches are passionately devoted to the philosophy of "A Game for Every Body," ensuring every child is given the opportunity to reach their full potential, achieve their dreams, and most importantly, have a blast while doing it. U7 & U9 Program:
- Boys and girls born in 2015, 2016 and 2017
- 6 Week Spring Program + 4 Week Late Summer Program
- Spring Starting on Wednesday, May 8th (can be extended) at St Gabriel’s High School from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm - Late Summer TBA.
- Focused on skills development and gameplay, non-contact.
U11 Program:
- Boys and girls born in 2013 and 2014
- Introduction to Contact
- Practice Tuesday & Thursday 6:00 pm-7:30 pm
- Festival Format Games Usually Played Saturday Morning
- Outdoor Practice starts in Late March / Early April
- Games usually start at the end of April – Spring Season finishes at the End of June
- No Cuts – No Try Outs
U13 Program:
- Boys and girls born in 2011 and 2012
- Boys 13 aside, girls 7 aside
- Training is Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
- Games are Saturday mornings
U15 Program:
- Boys and girls born in 2009 and 2010
- Boys and girls 15 aside
- Contact rugby training
- Tuesday & Thursday 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at St Gabriel's High School. Games are TBA
Summer & Fall Programs:
- Under 16's Boys & Girls Born 2008 & 2009
- Under 18's Boys & Girls Born 2006 & 2007
- Training is Tuesday & Thursday 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at St Gabriel's High School. Games are TBA
 | Chestermere Vikings is a participant in the Kidsport Alberta program. Kidsport provides grants to help cover the costs of registration fees, as well as providing no-cost equipment so that all kids aged 18 and under in Calgary & Area can play a season of sport. The Calgary & Area chapter accepts applications and administers grants of up to $500 per child/year, for kids who live in Calgary & Area.
