It's Country Fair Time! (Well, Almost)

By RVC Ag Society August 24, 2023

The annual Chestermere Country Fair is mere weeks away, and we're working hard to make the 34th one the best one yet!

This year's Country Fair will have something for everyone! The Kids Zone is jam-packed with the Create Kids Fest, Fitset Ninja obstacle course, sheep herding demos, Butterfield Acres petting zoo, Junior's Fire Fighter's Challenge and the Calgary Stampede mobile stage. Children under 2 and adults are free, ages 3 - 12 years $5.00 and ages 12+  $8.00.

The Red Ribbon (bench show) has been re-vamped for 2023 so show off your hobby! We want to showcase your creativity and talent. Enter your drawings, vegetables, paintings, crochet, embroidery, baking, preserves, flowers, quilting, woodworking, photography, weaving and so much more! The Red Ribbon competition during the Chestermere Country Fair is free to entry and there are ribbons, trophies and even prize money to be won. Entries are accepted on Friday, September 8 from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm and judged that evening. All entries will be on display for public viewing during the Country Fair on Saturday.

The rodeo portion of the fair this year features a Bull Riders Canada-sanctioned pro bull riding as well as steer riding, mutton bustin', sheep scramble and bronc riding. Another highlight of the rodeo is the Charity Bull Riding event where extraordinary local people laid it all on the line for their favourite charity. Tickets are required. Rodeo tickets include kids zone admission.

As always, there will be the ever-popular pancake breakfast, parade, harvest market and a few other surprises we're still working on.
