Youth Winter Programs at the Chestermere Public Library

Session 1 registration begins January 2nd, 2023 and programs begin January 9th, 2023.

Preschool Readiness 

Wednesdays at 1:00 pm. This program is aimed towards young kids aged 3-5 to build their confidence and independence before they go into school. Parents are asked to stay in the library while the kids are in the program room for a variety of stories, activities, and crafts. Registration is required.

STEAM

Mondays at 4:15 pm. Ages 6-12 Try some quick and easy S.T.E.A.M. Projects at the library! FUN-filled activities with scientific explanation. Each week features new activities about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Registration is required for STEAM.

CHECK! Out Chess 

Tuesdays at 4:15 pm. Ages 6-12 You are welcome to join us for this program, whether you are just learning or you’ve already been playing chess. Registration is required for this program.

Reading Buddies

Thursdays at 4:15 pm. Grades 1-3 Join us for this brand new program to help facilitate reading and literacy. Teen volunteers are matched with early elementary students learning to read. We will provide an activity then the student is asked to pick a book to read with their buddy. Registration is required for Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies Volunteers

Thursday at 4:15PM Grades 7-12  This program is a volunteer partnership to help facilitate reading and literacy in younger children. Become a buddy by contacting us at info@chestermerepubliclibrary.com. In order to volunteer for the reading buddies program the following qualifications must be met:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and mentor children
  • Strong literacy skills
  • Reliable and a positive attitude
  • Committed to program dates

Teen Volunteer Experience  

Ages 14-18  Looking to do some volunteering at the library? We are on the hunt for students to help us with our programs. Send us an email at info@chestermerepubliclibrary.com to sign up.



Macaroni KID Chestermere is a free local calendar, weekly e-newsletter and website focused on fun family events and information in the Chestermere, Langdon, Indus and surrounding rural areas. We gather all kinds of local family events and activities each week and add useful information about classes, family-focused local businesses, deals, product reviews, recipes, crafts, school and camp guides and more.
