The Best Memories are Made at the Country Fair!

September 2, 2021

There are just 10 days until the Chestermere Country Fair arrives and this year will be the biggest and best Country Fair yet!

The Red Ribbon Competition ribbons have arrived, and you may start bringing all your best baking, sewing, handicrafts, homemade wine & beer, jams, colouring and more on Friday, September 10 at 11:00 am. Make sure to check out the Red Ribbon Competition on Saturday and see if you won a ribbon (or some prize money!)

On Saturday, start the day with a pancake breakfast, hosted by the Chestermere Lions Club at 9:00 am. Then head over to the parade route to find the perfect viewing area for the parade. Don't forget a bag, rumour has it there's candy!

The  Kids Zone has something for everyone! Test your skills with mini-golf, air cannons, axe-throwing, Gater Gulp, Rattle Snake Roundup and Ring the Unicorn, then sit and listen to some stories with the Multicultural Youth Society of Chestermere and watch some multicultural dance performances.

Head on over to the petting zoo to meet some furry friends. The Wheatland Whirlers Square Dance Club and their "horses" will also be performing and they LOVE audience participation! Sing along with the Chestermere Soundwaves, our local community choral performance group and then grab some refreshments from a food truck or two.

Once you are fully refreshed, don't miss Junior's Firefighter Challenge and become a junior firefighter! Once you've completed your firefighter training, go say hi to the folks from the Chestermere Public Library. They always have fun activities! Luna PLAY Kids will also have some awesome gymnastic demos and other fun activities to help you burn off some calories you may have consumed at one of the many Country fair food trucks.

You won't want to miss the Southern Alberta Rabbit Breeders Show in the MPP room. It's truly fascinating to see so many different rabbits all in one space. And in the Harvest Market (main hall and parking lot) you'll find over 50 vendors and organizations (Christmas shopping, anyone?).

The RVC Ag. Society has worked very hard over the last year to improve their corral, and for the first time ever at the Country Fair, there will be 25 professional bull riders competing as part of the Bull Riders Canada circuit. There will also be junior bull riders, mutton bustin' and the Gentlemen's Bull Riding Competition where some local familiar faces will be climbing on the backs of bulls for the first time ever, all in the name of raising funds for charity.

Some events & activities require tickets. Please click here to pre-purchase.
