The Best Memories are Made at the Country Fair

The Country Fair is This Saturday!

September 9, 2021

The Chestermere Country Fair is quickly approaching on Saturday, September 11, and this year there is something for everyone! The day begins with the pancake breakfast hosted by the Chestermere Lions Club at 9:00 am, and then the parade begins at 9:30 am. There is always plenty of great viewing areas of the parade along West Chestermere Drive.

Test your skills with mini-golf, air cannons, axe-throwing, Gater Gulp, Rattle Snake Roundup and Ring the Unicorn, then sit and listen to some stories with the Multicultural Youth Society of Chestermere and watch some multicultural dance performances in the Kids Zone.

Head on over to the petting zoo to meet some furry friends. The Wheatland Whirlers Square Dance Club and their "horses" will also be performing and they LOVE audience participation! Sing along with the Chestermere Soundwaves, our local community choral performance group and then grab some refreshments from a food truck or two.

Once you are fully refreshed, don't miss Junior's Firefighter Challenge and become a junior firefighter! Once you've completed your firefighter training, go say hi to the folks from the Chestermere Public Library. They always have fun activities!

Don't miss the large indoor and outdoor Harvest Market. It starts in the parking lot and continues into the rec centre main hall. It's the perfect time to start Christmas (eek!) shopping! While you are inside, stop by the Red Ribbon (Bench) Competition and see if you or any of your friends won a ribbon. Don't forget the Zucchini Car Races that start at 12:00 pm. Then head on over to the MPP Room and see the Southern Alberta Rabbit Breeders Show.

PLUS!! There's still more! Bulls on the Beach was so popular in June, that the RVC Ag. Society has brought back 25 professional bull riders to compete again for Chestermere! The pros start riding at 11:00 am, followed by junior bull riders. Next up will be the Mutton Bustin', and the day will end with the Gentlemen's Bull Riding. And, don't forget to wet your whistle in the beer garden!
