Chestermere Community Playschool: Register for 2021-22 classes!

Spaces Are Still Available for 2021/22

By Chestermere Community Playschool April 8, 2021

BEING A KID IS ABOUT HAVING FUN! Play-based learning? That’s us!

Dinosaurs? Got ‘em. Dr. Seuss stories? Check. Daily gym time? Yup. Skating classes? You bet.

Through teaching that is play-based and curriculum guided, we can help your child (ages 3-5) make a successful transition from home to Kindergarten. Our playschool is a not-for-profit, parent-run, community-based program that supports every child’s learning, growth and development. Families attending our school play a big role in our program through volunteer roles - giving you a hand in your child's introduction to education.

Our teachers bring both enthusiasm and impressive credentials to our classroom. Together they offer years of combined experience working with children. They are passionate about teaching and love children, which directly results in a fun-filled classroom that features lessons, crafts, and centres on monthly topics of interest such as the five senses, outer space, love/kindness, nutrition, etc.

Below is a glimpse into a typical day at the playschool; not every day will be exactly the same but we typically follow this basic outline:

  • Arrival
  • Circle Time
  • Centre Activities
  • Snack Time
  • Gym or Outside
  • Craft or Large Group Activity
  • Dismissal

Because we are conveniently located in the Chestermere Rec Centre, we are able to offer a huge gym space for the children. Each day, we will either go outside or stay indoors in the gymnasium. From October through March, there will also be one day per month designated as a skating day!

We have spaces available for new registrations and are happy to answer any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
