Winter Fun: Outdoor Skating Rinks in Chestermere & Langdon

Outdoor rinks are a great way to get outside, enjoy some fresh air and get a little exercise. Please remember that storm ponds, no matter where they are, are unsafe for any kind of recreational activity.

Outdoor Rinks in Chestermere 

Did you know there are rinks both on the lake and in local neighbourhoods in Chestermere that are free for you to use this winter? The Chestermere Parks Department and many generous community volunteers have built these safe skating options for the entire community. The rinks are all monitored and maintained by the Parks Department and volunteers to ensure the rinks are safe.

Rink Rules

  • Before skating on the lake make sure to check the ice depths to ensure the rink is safe for use. You may find ice depth information updated weekly on this page.
  • All city rinks are unsupervised areas. The City of Chestermere is not responsible for loss or injury to rink users or damaged property.
  • It is recommended that children under the age of 12 be accompanied by an adult.
  • Wearing a helmet is strongly encouraged and protective padding is highly recommended.
  • No smoking or controlled substances are permitted at these rinks.
  • You must leave the ice during scheduled maintenance. 
  • Reminder: The city does not plough rinks on weekends or holidays.
