Macaroni Minute (08.29.2019)

August 29, 2019

Well, here we are. Exhausted and counting down the seconds until those school doors swing open. The last couple weeks of August are just crazy. Trying to pack every last-minute summer activity into every nice day we have, stock up on new clothes, find backpacks, track down school supply lists and make ANOTHER Costco trip for school snacks (since the kids managed to eat everything you just bought two weeks ago), we're all ready for a little breather and the return of routine.

The first few weeks of September really aren't much better. Meet the teacher nights. After school activities start (don't miss Energizer Night). Getting back into the habit of supper, bath, bed ("But, I don't wanna go to bed now. The sun is still up"). And, if you are like me, and your youngest is going into school full time, there's the "holy crap I'M GOING TO BE KID FREE FOR ALMOST SIX HOURS A DAY!!!!" moment that is about to happen and last for the better part of September as you adjust to that wee change.

Keep an eye on the event calendar - most programs will start again after the first week of September. The Green Shack Program is continuing this fall and over the winter, and the Parent Link programs will be available very soon. Don't forget: the Country Fair is September 7th and Soap Box Derby is September 14.

Helping you find your family fun,
