Beat the Summertime Blues – Work on Country Fair Entries!

June 6, 2019

Keep an eye out for Country Fair postcards - they will be coming home from most schools with your children or the postcards will be available at various locations throughout Chestermere and Langdon.  Save this card! Your children may colour the sheet on the reverse side and bring it to the Country Fair on September 7th - they could win a prize!

Country Fair Red Ribbon categories for children and youth will be on the Rocky View Chestermere Agricultural Society website shortly. Beat the summer boredom blues by reading through them and working on Red Ribbon entries like colouring, sculpture, flower arrangement, fairy/miniature garden, best dressed vegetable, decorated cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, handmade jewellery, painting, handicrafts, drawing, LEGO model, K’NEX model, handwriting, largest – pumpkin, sunflower head or zucchini, scrapbook page, collage, recycled material birdhouse, photography, woodworking, diorama and more.

Entries must be delivered to the Chestermere Rec Centre curling rink entrance area on Friday, September 6th between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm. There is no charge to put your entries into the Red Ribbon competition, however, you must hold a valid Rocky View Chestermere Agricultural Society membership to enter the Red Ribbon Competition. Memberships are either $5.00 for a single member or $10.00 for a family, and are easily available on the RVC Ag. Society website.

All winning entries in the Children & Youth Section receive cash prizes and there are also many other special prizes that will be awarded, so the more classes you enter the better your chances are! There is also a special certificate for the school that has the most entries - so tell your friends!

Spend some time this summer letting your imagination soar as you create some special entries for this year’s Country Fair Red Ribbon Competition.
