Synergy is once again offering two safety programs for youth: the Home Alone program and the Babysitter Training program for youth ages 10+. Both courses are in-person, and registration is required. Space is limited, so please register early.
Home Alone
When: Friday, October 16th, 2020, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Where: Chapel at Camp Chestermere, 1041 East Lakeview Road
Cost: $40.00
Who: Ages 10+ (siblings 7+ may attend at the same fee)
Skills: This program prepares our youth for the all-important step of Home Alone Safely. *Home Alone is recommended prior to taking Babysitter training.*
Being home alone can be an uncomfortable and unsafe situation without some basic skills. Those safety, first aid, and comfort skills are covered in this course through interactive games and role-playing.
Babysitter Training
When: Saturday, October 17, 2020
Time: 10:00am - 5:00pm
Where: Chapel at Camp Chestermere, 1041 East Lakeview Road
Cost: $65.00
Who: Ages 10+
Skills: This course is designed for responsible adolescents ages 10 years and up who want to become a babysitter or may already be one. The babysitter course covers the responsibilities of a babysitter, safety tips for children of all ages, first aid, feeding and diapering babies, basic childcare skills, and what to do in case of an emergency. Each student will receive a babysitter's manual and completion card.
