November 15 - 21 is the 2021 National Shoebox Collection Week. Spread some cheer to children less fortunate this year and pack a shoebox. It's easy, and a great family activity.
Pick up an empty shoebox at Chestermere No Frills or Chestermere Safeway and drop them off at the Distribution Center (20 Hopewell Way NE) from Nov 15-21.
HOW TO PACK SHOEBOXES
FILL SHOEBOXES: Fill average-sized cardboard or plastic shoeboxes (no large ones) with small gifts, and affix a completed Boy or Girl label to each box.
Gift Suggestions
- TOYS AND OTHER GIFTS such as dolls, soccer balls (with needle and pump), stuffed animals, socks, hair clips, cars, musical instruments, puzzles, jump ropes, etc.
- SCHOOL SUPPLIES such as pencils, pens, crayons, pencil crayons, notebooks, colouring books, etc.
- NON-LIQUID HYGIENE ITEMS such as toothbrushes, bar soap, washcloths, combs, etc.
- PERSONAL NOTE AND PHOTO (not inside the donation envelope)
Do Not Include
- Food or candy
- Toothpaste
- Used Items
- Decks of standard playing cards
- Items that could leak, melt, or freeze (shampoo, creams, lip balm, etc.)
- Items that can scare or harm a child (war-related toys, knives, toy guns, etc.)
- Breakable Items (glass, mirrors, etc.)
DONATE $10.00 PER BOX:
Donate online at SamaritansPurse.ca or place a cheque or cash donation in the attached envelope with your completed reply card. Place it inside your shoebox on top of your items. Please make one combined donation for multiple shoeboxes. ONLINE CREDIT CARD DONATION OR CHEQUE PREFERRED.
DROP OFF:
Drop off your shoeboxes at the Distribution Center (20 Hopewell Way NE) from Nov 15-21.

Please consider packing an additional shoebox online this year at PackaBox.ca. It’s simple and convenient! You can select from a variety of gift items for a boy or girl in each designated age group. Personalize each shoebox you pack with a personal note and photo if you wish.
