August 13: Blue Heron Fair, Barrhead, Alberta. Parade, rodeo, motocross show, plus more family events
August 19: The Great Alberta Potato Derby (10 km south of Smoky Lake): Join us for a full afternoon of zany potato fun for all ages. This celebration of the potatos' key role in the survival of this community in its early days starts at 11:00 a.m. with a church service which is followed by derby events starting at 12:30 p.m. Enjoy a free baked potato, win prizes and race your "spudcar" on Alberta's first potato racing track.
August 20: Cochrane Fair, Cochrane. The Cochrane Fair has something for everyone, no matter your age.
August 20: Redwater Discovery Days: A weekend of fun for everyone - children and adults. Celebrate our heritage!
August 20: Priddis & Millarville Fair Old-fashioned, country-style family fun
August 20 & 21: Vilna Boomtown Days: The Vilna & District Boomtown Days! is a celebration of our community’s agricultural heritage and local history. This event is presented by the Vilna & District Agricultural Society and many volunteers.
August 27 & 28: Babas and Borshch Ukrainian Festival, Lamont County
