Letters of Hope campaign for Fort McMurray First Responders

By Aia Clamp, Strathmore-Wheatland Macaroni Kid Publisher May 12, 2016
‪#‎lettersofhopeymm‬ campaign launches today!

Devastation has ripped through the City of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Over 80,000 residents were displaced by forest fires and are flooding reception centres, work camps, arenas, any space where they can find refuge.

And those who ensured residents were moved out safely and effectively continue to work tirelessly in the area. They make sacrifices to serve the public, fighting fires, conveying residents to safety and delivering basic needs.

These everyday heroes are human. They see the desperation in the eyes of victims. They feel the emotions of anger, despair and vulnerability.

Join Macaroni Kid Strathmore-Wheatland, Macaroni Kid Chestermere and Macaroni Kid NE Edmonton to thank these heroes and provide encouragement to displaced residents. Knowing they have the support of the country can simply bring a smile and make their day a little bit easier to maneuver. More bearable.

Giving hope.

If there is one thing Fort McMurray and her heroes need right now is hope.
The Letters of Hope for Fort McMurray Heroes campaign delivers just that. A message of encouragement, gratitude or comfort can lift the spirits.
