Brighten someone's day with this adorable flower card! Your child's favourite people will appreciate this card for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparent's Day, or just because. It even makes a great get-well card or just a note to let someone you love know you're thinking of them!

Here's how to help your child make a handprint flower card:

Handprint Flower Card

Supplies:

  • 2 sheets of yellow paper (you may need 3 sheets if your child's hands are larger)
  • 1 sheet of brown paper
  • 1 sheet of green paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Directions:

1. Fold a sheet of yellow paper into fourths and trace your child's hand on the rectangle.

2. Cut out the traced hand so that you have four hands.

3. Repeat steps one and two to create four more hands. (8 total)

4. Fold the brown sheet of paper in half.

5. Cut a circle out of the brown sheet, so that the circle touches the fold and creates two attached circles that open like a card.

6. Draw "seeds" on the front of the circle and write a message inside the open circles.

7. Cut a strip (stem) and two leaves out of the green paper. Glue the leaves to each side of the stem.

8. Place the yellow hands in a circle so that the fingers are on the outside.

9. Glue the edges of the brown circle to the palms of the 8 hands, creating a flower. Be sure the card can freely open and close.

10. Glue the stem to the back of the flower.

11. Give the card to someone special.
